How to measure a stump

Many people ask the best way to go about measuring their stump for stump removal. We suggest the following.

Here is our method:

Measure the diameter (width) of the stump at ground level or the widest point of the stump as it meets the ground. If there are a lot of roots about ground nearest to the stump, include those in the measurement. Likewise,  if the ground around the stump is elevated, you should extend the diameter to include that elevated level for accurate grinding.
